Bloomberg reports surprising news: Epic Games is reportedly working on an extraction shooter (extraction shooter) featuring Disney characters, with a planned release in November 2026.
This would be the first major title from the partnership announced in 2024, when Disney had invested $1.5 billion in Epic Games, the company behind Fortnite.
According to the sources of Bloombergthe game would be inspired by the format ofArc Raidersthe popular title from Embark Studios: players fight for resources before attempting to escape from an area. But, this time, with characters from the Disney catalog rather than postapocalyptic survivors. Is this a standalone release or an integrated title? Fortnite ? Nobody seems to have the answer.
Internally, opinions would be mixed. Sources cited by Bloomberg mention that the mechanics are considered “not very original”, although employees remain optimistic.
It should be noted, however, that Epic’s senior director of communications, Liz Markman, rejected the report. Bloomberg : “This is not a reflection of our ambitions for the collaboration with Disney. We are building a new world of games and entertainment centered on Disney experiences.”
Always according to Bloombergthis project would be the most advanced of the three that Epic would develop with Disney. And the context is not ordinary: in March 2026, Epic carried out massive layoffs affecting more than 1000 employees. Bloomberg posits that some affected employees were working on these projects with Disney which have not yet been officially announced.
Even though it’s a completely different type of game, the competition in November 2026 will be fierce, with the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 scheduled for the 19th.
