It’s a French legend of League of Legends. Bora “YellOwStaR” Kim is a former MOBA esports player and the world’s most famous player. At 34, he became the new Team Manager of the French team for the first edition of the Esports Nations Cup, the equivalent of the esports Olympic Games.
After a series strewn with pitfalls, it was “YellOwStaR” who was chosen to represent France. He will take care of the French delegation without any professional organization behind him. The French Union of Professional Clubs or the France Esports association could have been at the head of the project. But persistent differences between the two organizations made it impossible for them to participate in the Esports Nations Cup, leaving Bora “YellOwStaR” Kim to manage the French esports team “alone.”

Bora “YellOwStaR” Kim begins his career as a professional esports player League of Legends in 2011. He joined the Against All Authority structure, the first French competitive gaming team. With the club, the player participated in the first edition of the World Championships. A competition where he finished in second place behind the British structure Fnatic. In 2013, Bora “YellOwStaR” Kim joined the team that prevented her from becoming the first world champion of League of Legends. His era at Fnatic was successful. The Frenchman wins five consecutive EU LCS titles. This competition, now known as the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC), is the highest European division in the game. His team also reached the semi-final of the 2015 Worlds which saw SK Telecom T1, now T1, win this edition.
In 2016, Bora “YellOwStaR” Kim embarked on a North American adventure by joining the ranks of Team SoloMid (TSM). A few months after his signing, the Frenchman left the structure and returned to Europe, again with Fnatic. His story with the British team ended in 2017 after failing to qualify for the 6th League of Legends Worlds. He even announced the end of his career as a professional player. But his impact in the community remains present. The new retiree becomes the esports director of Paris-Saint-Germain. A position that he held from 2017 to 2018 and which marked his debut in the management of a structure.
The Gaming section
In 2020, Bora “YellOwStaR” Kim then returned to competition in LFL, the highest French division of League of Legends. For two years, he played for LDLC OL, the Lyon structure that he had coached since 2017. A successful return where he obtained second place in the French championship in the spring, before winning the European Masters a month later. With 15 years of experience, “YellOwStaR” is undoubtedly a giant of French esports. His appointment as Team Manager for the French team further demonstrates his impact on the professional scene.
