Momentum around AI and data centers fueled a sharp rally in the tech and infrastructure sector, with several stocks posting particularly strong weekly gains.

Short squeezes, big AI deals and demand from hyperscalers fueled the rally, highlighting investors’ strong appetite for next-generation computer games.

Avis Budget Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:CAR) surged 51.15% last week, after an excessive short squeeze sent the stock into record territory.

Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. (NASDAQ:AAOI) rose 37.18% this week. The company announced that it has received a new $71 million order for 800G single-fiber data center transceivers from one of its major hyperscaler customers. Citron shorted Applied Optoelectronics, calling its rally overhyped despite remaining bullish on fiber optic player Corning.

Nebius Group (NASDAQ:NBIS) gained 33.92% this week. The Information reported that cloud AI provider Nebius is in talks to purchase Israel-based AI startup AI21 Labs, which makes natural language processing models. Nebius, which operates data centers in Europe and the United States, is backed by Nvidia.

Astera Labs, Inc (NASDAQ:ALAB) rose 27.6% this week.

TTM Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:TTMI) jumped 25.08% this week.

Amkor Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMKR) gained 19.98% this week.

CoreWeave, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWV) rose 25.63% this week, following reports suggesting that Anthropic has agreed to lease the company’s computing power. In addition, the analyst JP MorganMark R Murphy, said CoreWeave’s expanded deal with Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ:META) represents a significant step forward in AI infrastructure scaling, while signaling upside potential and execution risks.

Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) rose 22.42% this week after the company posted on social media that it was about to join the Terafab project.

Furthermore, the company announced a multi-year collaboration with Google, a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG), to advance the next generation of AI and cloud infrastructure.

SK Telecom Co., Ltd. (NYSE:SKM) jumped 21.04% this week.

Bloom Energy Corporation (NYSE:BE) rose 21.18% this week. Susquehanna analyst Biju Perincheril maintains a Positive rating on the stock.
