What is this Xbox portable console?
With this version of Asus’ ROG Ally X, Microsoft is competing with the Steam Deck and Switch 2 on their territory. The console in the colors of the Xbox Series also uses the interface of the latter. With a weight of 715 g, fortunately well distributed, the console is a beautiful machine which nevertheless has good ergonomics which allows you to play for a few hours without tiring your wrists too much. The button layout is identical to that of an Xbox controller.

This Z2 Extreme model features a 7-inch Full HD IPS LCD panel, with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, VRR compatible with FreeSync Premium. To power the machine, the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme is accompanied by a Radeon 890M RDNA 3.5 GPU with 24 GB of RAM at 8000 MT/s. The ROG Xbox Ally X Z2 Extreme can run most games in very good conditions.
At this price, is the ROG Xbox Ally X a good deal?
It’s not a very big reduction, but any promotion is good to take for this kind of machine. The money saved can, for example, allow you to buy a few months of Xbox Game Pass subscription. Asus’ console ecosystem takes advantage of Xbox Cloud, Game Pass, as well as the Steam and Epic Games Store catalog, and it is possible to launch PlayStation games available on PC.
Finally, with its 80 Wh battery, autonomy can increase up to 4 hours depending on the mode chosen.
