Movistar KOI won two to zero against SK Gaming at the end of the first day of the third week of the LEC Spring Split 2026. A logical victory carried by a Spanish team very solid in teamfights and an untouchable Supa who relegates SK in large difficulty towards the bottom of the leaderboard.
A crucial success to restart the machine
Before this meeting, the two teams were in a very negative dynamic. Movistar KOI had a record of one win and two losses, with a recent setback. On the side of SK Gaming, the results were even more alarming with only one small victory for three defeats. This Bo3 represented a vital opportunity to start a climb towards the qualifying places for the rest of the competition.
The first round turned into a real marathon which ended in the forty-first minute. SK has opted for a very atypical composition compared to the current meta by aligning Anivia on the toplane. This strategy initially paid off since Skeanz was extremely proactive. His activity allowed SK to dictate the pace during the first quarter of an hour and secure the first dragons of the game. The French jungler also ends the map with an honorable 8/4/5. However, SK’s game plan ended up collapsing around their midlaner. LIDER completely foundered in its lane phase with Irelia. Falling very quickly to three deaths for no eliminations, he made a very controversial itemization choice. Without the Teleport summoner spell, his ability to split push was nonexistent. As soon as he isolated himself on a side lane, Movistar KOI took the opportunity to force numerical superiority teamfights around neutral objectives like Baron Nashor. The SK midlaner finishes this first map with catastrophic statistics of 1/8/8 despite his 376 minions killed.
The scaling strategy greatly benefited the Spanish team. Supa remained untouchable on his Ezreal by recording a perfect KDA of 5/0/12. He was able to accumulate 452 CS and dealt colossal damage throughout the game. Jojopyun also perfectly managed the rise in power of his Ryze by finishing in 5/3/13 for 400 CS. As the 40th minute approached, Movistar KOI’s superiority was complete. They closed the game with a lead of almost 10k golds, granting themselves eight turrets and 22 kills against only 15 for SK.
The Spanish fortress breaks enemy attacks
With its back against the wall, SK Gaming has modified its approach by focusing on a more standard composition and a powerful initiation focused on the combo of Gnar, Jarvan IV and Sylas. Movistar KOI’s response during the draft was surgical. They have built a veritable fortress focused on front-to-back combat. The main goal was to guarantee the absolute security of Supa’s Sivir thanks to the shields of Alvaro’s Lulu and the area control of Jojopyun’s Viktor. Skeanz again tried to get his team going by securing first blood in the 4th minute of play, SK even managed to take a slight advantage over the golds around the 20th minute, also securing 2 dragons and the Herald. But SK’s movements were increasingly slow across the map and their positions during mid-game teamfights proved to be significantly disadvantageous. The Spanish botlane behaved like an impenetrable wall. LIDER never found the spark to redeem himself and ended the card in 2/5/0.
The rest of the round came down to a clinical demonstration. Jojopyun delivered an immaculate game on Viktor by denying opposing players access to strategic vision points, concluding with a KDA of 2/0/6. At the half hour mark, Movistar KOI had taken the lead in terms of dragons and had secured Baron Nashor, widening an increasingly insurmountable gap. Supa reproduced his feat from the first part by finishing in 7/0/3 with 432 CS on the clock. Over the entire series, the Spanish AD carry logically takes the title of MVP with frightening statistics, displaying an average of 1366 damage per minute and no deaths conceded throughout Bo3. The Spanish team won this second map in 36 minutes with a lead of more than 7k golds, winning with a score of 12 kills to 8.
With this clear and flawless success, Movistar KOI reassures its fans and fully maintains its hopes of reaching the playoffs. Their botlane and Jojopyun display an optimal state of form which validates a reassuring style of play oriented towards the late game. On the other hand, the crisis is really brewing at SK Gaming. Despite the obvious desire to do well from Skeanz who tried everything in the jungle, the rest of the team is suffering terribly. Serious positioning problems and tactical errors relegate the German organization to the bottom of the Spring Split standings. Both teams will have to quickly turn to their next deadlines. SK Gaming will have the difficult task of facing Fnatic on April 13 at 7:15 p.m. to try to finally launch a real positive dynamic. For its part, Movistar KOI will try to confirm its domination by facing Team Heretics on April 19 at 7:15 p.m.
