The launch of Pearl Abyss’ latest title has some PC gamers cringing. However, a recent update changes the situation for owners of Intel Arc graphics cards. Crimson Desert now becomes accessible on this hardware, but precise adjustment should be avoided to avoid crashing.

A chaotic launch for Intel Arc-equipped gamers

When the game was released, many Intel Arc players received a discouraging error message. The message “Graphics device is currently not supported” blocked all access to the title. This situation quickly aroused the anger of the community on social networks.

The discontent was all the more acute as Intel had attempted to collaborate with Pearl Abyss before the release. The American manufacturer wanted to optimize the game for its Arc GPUs. However, the Korean studio did not integrate this support from launch.

So, players equipped with cards like B580 found themselves unable to enjoy the game. This exclusion caused Intel to react, which expressed its disappointment publicly.

Intel forces the passage with its new drivers

A playable experience but strewn with visual bugs

If Crimson Desert is now launching on Intel Arc, the first feedback is not all positive. Players report a “playable” experience but far from perfect. Visual glitches appear on characters’ faces and on certain terrains.

These rendering anomalies were shared on the subreddit dedicated to Intel Arc. Screenshots show strange textures and graphical glitches. These issues don’t prevent you from playing, but they do affect immersion.

Therefore, Intel Arc gamers must accept some visual compromises for the time being. Pearl Abyss seems aware of these concerns and continues to work on optimizing the title.

The FSR 4 setting to absolutely avoid

A more serious problem concerns precise graphics tuning. The game natively supports DLSS 4.5 from NVIDIA and the FSR 4 from AMD. However, enabling FSR 4 on an Intel Arc GPU causes a plantage instantané.

Without XeSS, Intel GPU owners have no stable alternative to boost their frames per second. Competing technologies like FSR cause crashes, which severely limits options.

Pearl Abyss hinted that work on Intel optimization continues. A future update could fix texture bugs and integrate XeSS. The players concerned therefore remain hopeful for the weeks to come.

In the meantime, owners of Intel Arc cards can enjoy Crimson Desert with the default settings. The experience remains imperfect, but it is no longer impossible as at launch.
