The accused, aged 36, was referred to the public prosecutor’s office on April 10 to be prosecuted within the framework of an immediate appearance before the criminal court of Orleans.

As revealed by Ici Orléans, the doctoral student of Iranian nationality was suspended at the end of March for having made remarks during his thesis defense evoking religion and highlighting texts by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, killed in Iran by an Israeli-American strike. The thesis director then asked “the doctoral student to return to his subject” but he refused and continued “his references on Iran and religion”, which led to the defense being ended.

The teacher then sent a protest email to many students, stating that he was “the Divine Words“while threatening the governance of a university”châtiment divin” on a social network.

He will have to answer on April 13 before the Orleans criminal court for provoking an act of terrorism online and for his threats against the president of the university, Eric Blond.
