China and Pakistan Call for Immediate End to Middle East War
- China and Pakistan are urging an immediate end to the war in the Middle East with a multi-point plan.
- Islamabad positions itself as a key player in the conflict negotiations.
- Colonel Peer de Jong provides his analysis of the situation on LCI.
Pakistan’s move? The country now plays a mediator role in the Middle East war, one month after the conflict began. Pakistan’s significant role is due to its ability to engage with Iran and the United States.
On LCI, Colonel Peer de Jong discusses the ties between Islamabad and Washington. “General Munir, the head of Pakistan, was trained in the United States. Therefore, he is very close to Donald Trump,” explains the specialist. Pakistan and China issued a joint call on Tuesday, March 31 to end the conflict, presenting a multi-point plan including a ceasefire and the restoration of traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Colonel Peer de Jong, Pakistan could provide assistance to the United States. “This is a backup and exit strategy for the Americans. They announced that the tempo set by Trump at the start of the war of five to six weeks will be maintained. We are currently at four weeks, so two weeks remain,” emphasizes the LCI consultant.
