The restructuring of the product portfolio to improve experiences and promote sustainability is seen as a strategic adjustment for the company in the context of a tourism market that is strongly evolving towards responsible tourism models.

According to a representative of Vietravel, this new orientation is based on two pillars: ESG criteria and environmental and social impact (IES). ESG criteria bring together environmental, social and governance dimensions, and aim to minimize environmental impact, increase value for local communities, respect indigenous culture and improve governance standards throughout the product value chain.

At the same time, the LEI (Living Experience Index) is used as an indicator to evaluate the depth of the experience lived by the traveler during each stay. With this approach, travel is not limited to simply visiting a destination, but aims to allow travelers to immerse themselves in local life, discover culture and enjoy more personalized experiences.

Companies integrate ESG and LEI criteria from product design and route planning to evaluating the quality of services. This approach aims for a tourism model where the value of the tourist experience is combined with environmental responsibility and support for local communities.

According to the company, testing itineraries according to ESG and LEI criteria aims to gradually refine the new product standards, in line with the sustainable tourism trend in the coming months. This orientation also reflects the evolution of the global tourism market, with many destinations and companies in the sector moving away from mass tourism models to favor responsible and authentic experiences.

This trend will also be clearly visible at the VITM International Tourism Fair (April 9-12), where many companies in the sector will present new product lines focused on local experiences, strengthening cultural exchanges and reducing environmental impact.

This new tourism product demonstrates a more unique approach aimed at offering a more immersive experience.

It should be noted that tourism products aiming for carbon neutrality clearly demonstrate an ESG orientation by integrating elements of green tourism into the itinerary, the reduction of plastic waste and the optimization of transport to raise tourist awareness of environmental protection. This is seen as an important test to make sustainability an integral part of the tourist experience, and not just a marketing argument.

The launch of the new product range, comprising 10 iconic itineraries in international and national markets, aimed at testing an approach to tourism focused on in-depth experiences, also coincided with the presentation to Vietravel of the First Class Work Medal by the President of Vietnam, in recognition of the company’s contributions to the development of Vietnam’s tourism industry over the past 30 years.
