MORENO VALLEY, Calif. (CNS) — A fast-moving bushfire in Moreno Valley has burned 4,176 acres and was 25% contained.
The Springs Fire was reported about 11 a.m. Friday in the 15900 block of Gilman Springs Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The blaze was initially estimated at roughly 5 acres but quickly spread, growing to 4,176 acres by 10 p.m. Friday, officials said.
As of 4 p.m. Friday, fire crews were reporting the fire was only a couple of hundred yards from structures in the Championship Drive area.
Evacuation orders were issued for zones MOE-0507, MOE-0641, MOE-0744, MOE-0745, MOE-0746, MOE-0747, RVC-0748, RVC-0825, RVC-0826. An evacuation warning was issued for zones MOE-0504, MOE-0505, MOE-0506, MOE-0633, MOE-0636, MOE-0637, MOE-0638, MOE-0639, MOE-0640, MOE-0743, MOE-0822, MOE-0823.

An evacuation shelter was opened at Valley View High School in Moreno Valley. Animals were being received at San Jacinto Animal Shelter.
At least three air tankers, two type 1 helicopters, about 40 engines and four water tenders were requested to assist in battling the blaze, according to the fire department.
Gilman Springs Road between Alessandro Road and Bridge Street was temporarily closed.
The cause of the fire was under investigation, and no injuries were immediately reported
