The climatograph of Mont Aigoual, the highest point of Gard, becomes, according to the guide, a place not to be missed by tourists and the curious.
A consecration which makes the highest point of Gard proud. In its 2026 edition, the Michelin Travel and Cultures guide (formerly the Green Guide, not to be confused with the gastronomic guide), rewards for the first time the climatographer of the Mont Aigoual observatory.
Place to see
This reward results in a star. This, according to the language of the book, considers the climatograph to be a place “To have” during a visit to the region. The guide is aimed particularly at travelers and tourists. This distinction particularly rewards “the work of our teams” we react to the observatory. The climatograph was installed after the weather station closed. It is the first European center dedicated to the study and awareness of climate change.
In Occitania, several sites are starred by the guide. But the latter particularly holds in esteem a few emblematic places, judged “unmissable”such as the Soulages museum in Rodez, the Padirac chasm in the Lot or the sumptuous Causse noir which spans the Gard, Lozère and Aveyron.
