Players looking for excitement in Arc Raiders should find something to occupy themselves with Increased Observation. Between the adrenaline of fighting against hordes of ARC machines and the rage of having your loot stolen by opportunistic profiteers, there is no time to be bored.
How does the Arc Raiders Enhanced Observation event work?
This alternative game mode for the different regions is preferably aimed at very well-equipped players:
- The loot on the map is very poor, searching the area or using keys is a waste of time.
- Of the depots of combat equipment are present in different places on the map, they have a special icon. They contain numerous ammunition crates, medical bags and even the occasional weapon crate. They can resupply you.
- ARC land machines almost all disappear. There are still the Sentinels and sometimes a few enemies in the subway. Instead, many Watchers are present and hordes of Vaporizers patrol the skies.
- Trial points are doubled, making this game mode viable for certain objectives, like destroying aerial enemies or opening wrecks from the first wave, for example.
The Watchers are not there to decorate, they will regularly emit a special signal, which will trigger the landing of an assessor after a few seconds. Once it lands, it emits 3 red lasers visible from the entire map. This big machine poses no direct danger and is overflowing with valuable loot.
The principle of this event is therefore to go from one evaluator to another to grab their loot. The problem is that the other Raiders have jumped on it too and forcing the opening of the Evaluator’s containers will raise the alarm. Nearby Vaporizers will intervene quickly and entire squadrons of flying ARCs will leave orbit and fall directly on you.
In a few seconds, you can find yourself surrounded by ten machines. This includes the trinity formed by the Wasps, the Hornets and the Lucioles, but also complete groups of Sprays and Artificers. Suffice to say that simply staying put to collect the loot is suicide.
There are a few subtleties to know about how Evaluators work, which will greatly help you loot them:
- The number of red lasers indicates how many chests are still intact in an Assessor.
- Only one chest at a time can be broken into by climbing onto one of the Assessor’s legs. A small platform deploys regularly to indicate which one can be opened. If there are several Raiders, you can only take your chances.
- Each time a chest is breached, a wave of ARC reinforcements are deployed. The first is made up of around ten light flying machines, the second of 4-5 heavy flying machines. The last one calls for even more reinforcements.
Reviewer’s Loot: What rewards and items are available?
The ultimate reward in this game mode is the Blueprint by Dolabraa kind of legendary energy pump shotgun. You have a small chance of finding it in each Evaluator box. Some players take several dozen openings to find it, but it seemed quite common to us.
The three Assessor Containers are filled with rare ARC materials you’ll need for the High Capacity Antenna Project. The most notable of these being the Assessor Matrixwhich you will need in large quantities and which cannot be obtained anywhere else.
- Finally, Vaporizers are a source of materials too. THE Vaporizer Regulator is required for the Dolabra and for the project.
Tips, Advice and Strategies
It’s a shame, but the event has the same problems as the Queen and the Matriarch. The most serious players, who take down waves of ARCs with a Fuselage Breaker, or even with legendary weapons, tend to lose on all counts. Using them is expensive and while they fight, profiteers will loot the carcasses as well as the Appraiser. This can even make them a target for other players. Without claiming to have found a perfect solution to these structural problems, here are different tips to make your game profitable.
There’s no point running to the other end of the map if the assessor is too far away from you. It is better to place yourself in the center of the map and wait for a good opportunity. Sitting somewhere on the outskirts in the hope that an evaluator will be nearby is a bit random, but pays off.
Specialized equipment will help you loot the Assessor and survive. This includes the Module MK3 (Survivor)of the Smoke Grenades to use before forcing the container and above all, the Photoelectric Capewhich will help you escape without being directly targeted.
- Install a Zipline can help you quickly approach the assessor and then reach your shelter in record time.
- If you manage to be the first to arrive at an assessor (or among the first) climb on one leg hoping that the platform deploys, you must. If it deploys in front of another player, run away and hide (or kill them if PvP doesn’t bother you).
- You are not encouraged to simply take advantage of others, destroy the ARC machines from a safe position, if you missed an opportunity to open the chest.
- Once the reinforcements are destroyed or occupied by other players, you can try to open the second, or even the third, chest when the time comes.
- Just because a player opened the chest doesn’t mean they had time to use it. Between the item reveal time and the horde of angry drones, chests tend to contain a large amount of loot until a second player can empty them a little more peacefully.
- An alternative approach, especially in PvP lobbies, is to scavenge. Let players attempt to loot the Assessor and get killed, you can pick up their equipment and loot from their corpses when the defenders are dead.
If fighting with a horde of greedy players doesn’t appeal to you, one way to avoid the crowds is to continue playing when there are less than 10 minutes left. By being well prepared and agile, it is possible to loot a chest or two on a last assessor without having as much competition before evacuating. Bring a Raider Hatch Key in this case.
