On the occasion of World Breathing Day, celebrated each year on April 11, the Mutualité de La Réunion is organizing, as part of its Breathe Health program, a week of free events from April 7 to 11, 2026 to raise awareness among Réunion residents of the benefits of good breaths. Conferences, workshops, meetings and practical experiences will allow the general public to discover how adapted breathing can become a simple and powerful tool for improving your health, managing your stress, optimizing your abilities, strengthening your daily well-being.

This 2026 edition will also focus on a particularly important issue for young people: stress management and concentration as part of preparation for exams.

For Théodore Hoarau, President of the Mutualité de La Réunion, “breathing is one of the simplest and most accessible health tools available. However, we have largely forgotten how to breathe well. Through Breathe Health, our ambition is to give back to the people of Réunion – and in particular to young people – concrete keys to better manage stress, regain concentration and take care of their health on a daily basis.

– Breathing to help students manage exam stress –

In 2026, the Mutualité de La Réunion wishes to strengthen its action with young people, particularly in middle schools, high schools and higher education establishments.

As exams approach, many students face high pressure and stressful situations that can affect concentration, memorization and self-confidence.

Breathing awareness sessions will be offered in several schools in order to teach students simple techniques to better manage their stress, regain calm and improve their ability to concentrate.

These tools, easy to use on a daily basis, can help young people approach exam periods with greater serenity and confidence.

– A simple practice, with powerful effects –

Often considered as an automatism, breathing is in reality a formidable lever for physical, mental and emotional health.

Breathing better helps reduce stress, improve sleep, strengthen vitality and promote concentration. Breathing also plays a role in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, pain management or the support of certain chronic illnesses.

Accessible to all, free and natural, conscious breathing thus constitutes a major prevention tool, still too little integrated into public health policies.

– A call to breathe together –

The Mutualité de La Réunion invites the entire population to participate in this World Breathing Day, in a friendly, caring and educational atmosphere. All events are free, open to all
