Students in professional logistics baccalaureate from the Sainte-Marie private professional high school in Bagnols-sur-Cèze will embark, from April 8 to 10, on an educational bike trek combining discovery of businesses, sporting challenge and team spirit.

From April 8 to 10, around fifteen first professional baccalaureate students in logistics professions from the Sainte-Marie private professional high school in Bagnols-su-Cèze will live a unique experience: traveling nearly 100 kilometers at cycling in three days. Supervised by five members of the educational team, they will set off to meet the professional world while taking on a physical and collective challenge.

The objective is multiple: to concretely discover the logistics chain, to strengthen class cohesion and to take up a sporting challenge accessible to all. “We wanted to get out of the usual course framework and learn differently,” explains Paolo, a student in the class. He adds: “This trek will allow us to see how real logistics companies work while experiencing an adventure together. »

Meeting two major players in logistics

At the heart of this journey, two professional visits will allow students to observe logistics in a real situation. The first stage will take them to FM Logistic, in Laudun. A long-time partner of the school, the company specializes in logistics services for large groups, notably in distribution.Â

The students will also visit the Ikea site in Vedène. This new partner will offer them a different look at logistics, more focused on production and direct distribution to the customer.. “These two companies are very different and represent two complementary logistics models,” explains the teaching team. “This allows students to understand the full diversity of their future profession. HAS” Beyond discovery, these meetings can also open up professional prospects. The Ikea company has notably expressed its interest in welcoming future logistics apprentices.

Sport, culture and community life

The trek will not be limited to the professional world. The students will also make a cultural stop with a visit to the Palais des Papes in Avignon. The group will spend two nights tent camping, a first for some participants. An experience which will help to strengthen group spirit and mutual aid. “We’re going to live together for three days, cook, organize and help each other.” Nathan explains. “It will really strengthen cohesion in the class,” he rejoices.  Helmets and yellow vests will be compulsory, and a broom car with trailer will transport the group’s belongings.

A project prepared by the whole class

This trek is not only a school trip: it is also a project built collectively by the students. Upstream, they participated in the material and logistical preparation. With the Gard-o-Climat association, eight bikes were restored from recovered models, with the establishment only financing the parts to be replaced.

The class also organized several actions to finance part of the project: sale of cans and candy during recess or participation in school projects in cooperative cellars in Roquemaure, Saint-Paulet-de-Caisson and Tavel. Even the organization of meals was anticipated. A cooking workshop is notably planned for preparing salads before departure. “Everyone participated and gave their all”emphasizes Nathan. “We helped each other a lot and that really united us. »

Train future team leaders

For teachers, this project is fully part of student training. The professional logistics baccalaureate prepares young people to occupy positions of responsibility, often as team leaders. “Organizing a project like this allows students to develop organizational, group management and community life skills,” explain the supervising teachers. “It is also a concrete way of making them aware of the responsibilities that their future profession entails. »

From a sporting challenge to professional discovery, this bike trek promises to be a complete adventure for these future logistics professionals. And for the students, the impatience is already palpable: “We can’t wait to leave. It will be both a professional discovery, a physical challenge and a great collective adventure. »
