The strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the areas of vocational training, employment, and entrepreneurship was at the heart of the meeting held on Friday between the Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Riadh Choud, and his Algerian counterpart, Nassima Arahab.
The two parties agreed to establish a mixed sectoral technical committee responsible for developing an annual action plan and ensuring its implementation and evaluation, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Employment.
Efforts will also be made to implement the cooperation agreement between the National Training Center for Trainers and the National Institute of Vocational Training and Education “Kaci Tahar” in El Biar (Algeria), in addition to finalizing the twinning agreement between the National Training Center for Trainers and the Algerian Center for Distance Training and Education.
During the meeting, the two ministers also discussed the possibility of establishing a training institution or a joint vocational academy in one of the border areas, as well as implementing a cooperation program to benefit from Tunisian experience in the field of supplementary, certifying, and specialized training.
This meeting took place on the sidelines of the international conference dedicated to presenting the UNESCO regional report on education and vocational training in the Maghreb countries (March 27), in Tunis.
