And which is ultra simple to practice.
We sometimes (often?) need to disconnect from our screens, forget about our (incessant) notifications and give ourselves a moment of self-care. Here is a feel good trend that is essential and makes you forget about screens, very simple to adopt.
The feel good trend that is essential and makes you forget the screens
Here is the feel good trend that is taking over and making you forget the screens: the newspaper. Forget screens, the trendy activity that everyone likes to do takes us back to our youth and our childhood and teenage memories. Write in a diary, a book of memories, a travel diary, a small notebook slipped into your bag… And decorate your diary or notebook with collages, souvenir photos, in scrapbooking mode.
Etsy reveals, in its latest trend book, that searches for “leather notebook covers” have increased on its site by 126%. Those for “travel diaries” have been multiplied by two. And searches for “souvenir journals” jumped 189% while those for “diary charms” climbed 395%. On Tik Tok, the hashtag “journaling ideas” is a hit, with more than 400 million views. The emphasis is on memories that leave a trace, a bit nostalgic and very creative. It’s also a way of laying down your thoughts, to see them clearly, to get rid of those that clutter us, to do yourself some good. Generation Z is at the forefront of this lovely trend. The others follow her with great pleasure!
How and why adopt this feel good trend?
To get started with the feel good journaling trend, start by buying a nice notebook. Stationery stores, physical or online stores, have no shortage of choice in this area. And we find notebooks and notebooks at all prices. Then, we decorate our newspaper. It is covered with fabric (fixed with white glue), masking tape or scraps of wallpaper (glued with wallpaper glue). Then we add charms. Finally, we decorate the first pages: stickers, masking tape, drawings with felt-tip pen and pencil, glitter (ecological!)… Voila, we can write in our diary. Whatever comes to mind. There are no rules, no limits. The important thing is to treat yourself to a moment of self-care.
Because, yes, writing is a feel good trend that is really good for our mental health. Writing helps reduce stress. When we note on a sheet of paper events or sensations that worry us, preoccupy us, then they leave our mind a little. We ruminate less. And you can read and reread your notes, take a step back. Then put things into perspective, look for solutions to put in place to free yourself from these difficulties. Writing is, in the same way, good for our sleep! Less ruminations equals more peaceful and restful sleep. Writing even helps reduce the symptoms of depression. Writing down all your emotions, even the most difficult to express, helps you understand them and then feel better. Finally, writing allows you to achieve your goals. So, to be more fulfilled. When we establish lists of objectives and the means to implement to achieve them, we think, we rationalize, we prioritize. And we succeed more easily.
