Netflix is making a big announcement and it concerns the sequel to one of its successful series from recent years. Here’s when season 2 of the phenomenon from the United States will be released.
Death Note, Cowboy Bebop, Alice in Wonderland, One Piece… Netflix continues live-action adaptations of iconic manga. Each year, the list grows and the reputation of the streaming giant in this area improves from year to year. From time to time, the streaming giant turns its gaze away from Japanese successes and towards phenomena closer to home. After a first season having accumulated more than 298.6 million views upon its release, Netflix has just made a big announcement for one of its new flagship series.
Netflix dates season 2 of Avatar The Last Airbender
If its reputation is perhaps not the same here, Avatar The Last Airbender is a real institution in the United States. The Netflix adaptation, launched in 2024, has naturally established itself as a solid success, despite the virulent criticism of certain historical fans on the direction taken by the series and its numerous liberties taken which contrast with the original writing of the characters. The streaming giant quickly ordered the next two seasons to conclude the Gaang’s story, filmed in a row before Aang grew his mustache. After a long silence, Netflix announces that season 2 of Avatar The Last Airbender will arrive on the platform on June 25, 2026.
For the occasion, Netflix has published some new extracts and a behind-the-scenes look at the filming of this second season. Aang, Sokka and Katara will therefore go in search of an Earth Master capable of teaching this mastery to the Avatar. The event of this season 2 of Avatar The Last Airbender will obviously be the introduction of Toph Beifong, iconic character, who will be played here by Miya Cech.
As for the real continuation of Aang’s adventures, the appointment is set on Paramount+ for October 9, 2026 with the film Avatar The Legend of Aang. The American giant has chosen to skip a theatrical release in order to concentrate its efforts on the streaming platform, to the great dismay of the community. Fans of the license will find the most emblematic characters of the saga, now older, wiser and faced with a new threat. A new animated series, Avatar Seven Havens, taking place after the events of The Legend of Korra, is also expected at a date still to be determined.
