Renault is developing the Espace and Rafale in a targeted manner. More technologies, enhanced connectivity and even improved on-board comfort for the two largest crossovers in the manufacturer’s range.
For 2026, evolution comes first and foremost through technology. Among the most notable new features, we note the arrival of the standard Qi2 induction charger, compatible with MagSafe technology, for more efficient and more stable smartphone charging, limiting overheating and improving daily use. But that’s not all.
Gemini integration
Another progress on the connectivity side: thanks to the collaboration with Airnity, both models integrate a dedicated data plan directly into the OpenR Link system, without the need to share the smartphone connection. Result: smoother online applications and services, with an offer including data traffic for several years.

In terms of interaction with infotainment, Renault is introducing the Google Gemini assistant, intended to replace Google Assistant. It is a more advanced conversational system, capable of understanding naturally formulated requests and managing more complex exchanges, improving overall ergonomics.
Other new features
Security is not left out. The new driver monitoring system, based on a camera integrated into the A-pillar, can detect signs of fatigue or discomfort and intervene automatically, until the vehicle stops in critical situations.
Smart Mode is also making its appearance: it automatically manages driving modes by adapting to the driver’s style, in order to optimize performance and efficiency without manual intervention.
Mechanically, the two models continue to rely on 200 hp full hybrid traction chains, while the Rafale also offers a 300 hp 4×4 plug-in hybrid version with a 22 kWh battery.
The update is finally accompanied by some aesthetic and presentation touch-ups, such as the new satin Slate Blue color for the Space and the black TEP interiors available on the Rafale.
