The new season of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is preparing to land on April 2, 2026 with a clear promise: to offer even more content to players. Treyarch and Activision have lifted the veil on the Battle Pass for this season 3, which promises to be particularly dense.

On the program, more than 100 rewards, new maps, new weapons and the return of the BlackCell system. A formula that is now well established, but which continues to cause debate among the community.

Black Ops 7 season 3, a rich Battle Pass with more than 100 rewards

As in previous seasons, the Battle Pass offers progression in stages allowing you to gradually unlock rewards. Players will be able to obtain some important new features for free, including basic weapons. Besides this, a premium version allows access to more cosmetic content and accelerates progression.

The premium pack also includes up to 1,100 COD points, while a more advanced version at 2,400 points allows you to directly unlock 20 levels.

BlackCell, a premium model still at the heart of reviews

Introduced in 2023, BlackCell has become a central part of Call of Duty seasons. This premium format is distinguished by its price, set at $29.99, and by its access only via real payment. Unlike the regular Battle Pass, BlackCell offers exclusive content, including additional Operator skins and weapon blueprints.

For this season 3, players will be able to unlock seven exclusive skins as well as several weapon plans. Among them, the Emprise skin for Javelin is accessible immediately after purchase. Despite these additions, the model continues to attract criticism. Some players fear a gradual rise in paid content to the detriment of free rewards.

New maps, weapons and the return of Verdansk to Warzone

Beyond the Battle Pass, this season 3 also introduces many new features into the game. Three new multiplayer maps will be available from launch, accompanied by two remastered maps well known to fans: Plaza and Gridlock. More content will arrive during the mid-season update, scheduled for approximately a month later. Warzone players will also be able to enjoy the return of Verdansk, an iconic map that marked the history of battle royale mode.

A season 3 designed to revive players’ interest

With this new season, Treyarch seems to want to keep players engaged by increasing the content. Between classic progression, premium content and regular new features, the strategy is based on constant renewal of the experience. It remains to be seen whether this model, particularly with BlackCell, will continue to convince or will further fuel debate within the community.
