Avatar: The Last Airbender (Netflix) – We finally know the release date for season 2

Cowboy Bebop, One Piece, Death Note…The list of live-action adaptations of popular anime produced by Netflix grows longer every year. In the lot, the adaptation ofAvatar: The Last Airbender released in 2024 has established itself as one of the most convincing public successes.

After months of waiting and silence, the Netflix series has finally come out of the shadows and announced its return with a second season highly anticipated by fans. In addition to the first unpublished images, the show has above all revealed its broadcast date.

We see the actors Gordon Cormier (Aang), Kiawentiio (Katara), Ian Ousley (Sokka), Dallas Liu (Zuko) who have grown up, announcing a new chapter “fou” et “at a higher level”. Actress Miyako, who plays newcomer Toph, also gets the chance to share her excitement.

Fans of the original anime will also be delighted to see the settings of the city of Ba Sing Se, capital of the Earth Kingdom which will be at the heart of this new season. At the very end of the video, we finally learn its broadcast date on Netflix: June 25, 2026.

A release at the very beginning of summer which will allow the streaming giant to ride on the great dynamic of strong programs initiated since the start of the year: Bridgerton season 4 in January, One Piece season 2 in March, Acharnés season 2 and the return of Stranger Things in April…

As a reminder, this live action series Avatar: The Last Airbender is based on the cult animated series by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko released in 2005. It follows Aang, the young Avatar, as he learns to master the four elements to restore balance to a world threatened by the terrifying Fire Nation.

The Netflix series is led by showrunners Christine Boylan and Jabbar Raisani, who took over after the departure of Albert Kim. Seasons 2 and 3 of the series were filmed consecutively, and we already know that they will conclude the adventures of Aang and his friends.

Made up of seven episodes, this second season of Avatar: The Last Airbender can therefore be found from June 25 on Netflix.
