A nightmare that lives up to its name
Koshmar: The Last Reverie presents the adventure of Violet, a teenager tormented by her nightmares which disrupt the sweetest and most colorful dreams. She will then be able to enter directly into these nightmares to find out where they come from, and will face all kinds of things, especially in other people’s nightmares.
On her way, she will encounter several characters as well as various monsters who will undermine her mental health. The game will represent this by a system of choices, with decisions to be made which will have an impact on the narrative, but also the gameplay. And vice versa, since your way of solving certain quests and interacting with the world will also have consequences. Puzzles and fights will punctuate this adventure, which will also have a little touch of roguelite by varying the builds offered.
The studio says it took inspiration from a lot of games here, including Alice: Madness Returns which is perhaps the most obvious. It is also a question of Lies of P, The Medium or even Control, a meme Hades et Hogwarts Legacy. Not all of these influences are visible at first glance, however.
Koshmar: The Last Reverie is planned for 2027 on PC and on consoles not yet specified.
