Buoyed by favorable weather and sustained attendance, the capital is starting its 2026 tourist season on an encouraging note.

The city of Luxembourg has successfully started the 2026 tourist season, according to the report presented this Wednesday by the LCTO.

“Benefiting from glorious weather, the Easter long weekend attracted local and international visitors to the capital, creating a lively atmosphere on the streets of the Old Town. The high number of visitors once again underlines the attractiveness of Luxembourg as a versatile urban destination,” the document reads.

According to the Luxembourg City Tourist Officethe attendance at the Knuedler information office testifies to this momentum: “During the Easter holidays, the Luxembourg City Tourist Office welcomed 2,265 visitors to its information office located at the Knuedler. The largest group came from Germany (884), followed by France (330) and the Netherlands (96). The local population also showed keen interest: 144 visitors residing in Luxembourg were recorded at the information office.

Guided tours continue to appeal to a wide audience. “In total, 492 participants discovered the capital in the company of official guides. The “Easter Safari” was particularly appreciated: with 116 participants, it was almost full and once again demonstrated the potential of formats adapted to families. In addition, 18 guided tours with a personal guide have been reserved.

More than 5,000 visitors to the casemates

Attendance at tourist sites also remained strong. “The Bock casemates confirm their status as one of the capital’s main attractions” with “5,313 visitors in just four days”. The Pétrusse casemates “also met with great success, with 1,859 visitors”, thanks to “an immersive and contemporary visiting experience”.

The Easter weekend also highlighted local traditions with “the 197th edition of the Éimaischen”, which “transformed the old town into a colorful festival”, attracting “thousands of visitors”.

Interest in the destination is also reflected online: “The luxembourg-city.com site recorded 47,388 page views by 20,108 users during the Easter weekend”, a sign of solid international visibility.

Finally, “the Easter weekend clearly showed that Luxembourg city is perfectly prepared for the 2026 tourist season”, driven by “innovative offers, traditional festivals and growing international interest”.
