On April 7, in Nanning, the exchange and research program “AI for cross-border tourism cooperation between Vietnam and China” was officially inaugurated, attracting the participation of nearly 30 officials and representatives of tourism companies from four provinces of Vietnam.
The event, jointly organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) and the cultural, sports and tourism agencies of Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang and Tuyen Quang provinces, had the theme “Strengthening cross-border exchanges and cooperation in subject of AI+ tourism”.
According to the program, for 14 days, interns will participate in intensive courses taught directly by experts in AI technology, researchers specializing in China-ASEAN politics and experts in the tourism sector.
The content covers areas such as the application of big data in tourism policy planning, cross-border tourism product development and building a common tourism brand.
Officials from the Guangxi Department of Culture and Tourism stressed that the program aims to create a platform for exchanging and sharing experiences in smart tourism development, thereby helping to build trust and promote practical cooperation between local governments in both countries. country.
The parties plan to jointly develop unique tourism products, improve visitor experience and advance towards smart, convenient and sustainable cross-border tourism.
Representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lang Son Province said that exchanging experiences in applying AI to the tourism sector will provide Vietnamese communities with a solid foundation for developing and implementing transformation programs digital technology adapted to their realities. They also expressed their wish to see the two parties strengthen the sharing of information, the interconnection of data and cooperation with a view to the development of intelligent tourism products.
Under this program, the group of interns will carry out field surveys in different localities in Guangxi, such as Nanning, Liuzhou, Guilin and Hechi, where they will learn about smart tourism models, participate in traditional cultural experiences, visit historical sites related to Vietnam-China friendship and the former residence of President Hô Chi Minh in China.
This activity is considered to have made a concrete contribution to the promotion of tourism cooperation between the localities of Vietnam and China, especially in the context of digital transformation and the application of new technologies, which have become an inevitable trend, opening many opportunities for the development of tourism cross-border between the two countries.
