In addition to the daily North-South trains SE1/2, SE3/4, SE5/6, SE7/8, SE9/10, SE21/22, SNT1/2, the railway sector is continuously adding regional trains in the South between Saigon – Quy Nhon, Saigon – Nha Trang and Saigon – Phan Thiet from April 24 to May 3.

During this period, the railway sector is collaborating with online payment providers such as banking applications and e-wallets like VnPay, Momo, ShopeePay, ZaloPay, Payoo and ViettelPay to offer passengers numerous discounts and promotions on ticket purchases.

Furthermore, in order to stimulate demand for rail transport linked to heritage tourism, the railway sector is coordinating with local authorities to improve services and raise the quality of service to passengers.

Recently, the Vietnam National Railway Company and the People’s Committee of Hue City unveiled a new project for the train “Journey Connecting the Heritage of Central Vietnam” and decided to make Hue Railway Station a tourist destination.

The Central Vietnam Heritage Connection Journey train has 12 carriages with 56 comfortable seats, all replaced by rows of seats that rotate 180 degrees, allowing passengers to sit facing the train and enjoy maximum comfort while admiring the scenery.

The highlight of the train is its VIP car (32 seats) whose interior is inspired by the imperial palace of Hue. As for the passenger cars, they feature decorative patterns representing the traditional yin-yang tiles of Hue, the old town of Hoi An and lanterns reproduced with mother-of-pearl inlays and blue ceramics, to the delight of Chinese and foreign tourists.

Each carriage is equipped with LED lighting, a high quality audio system and LCD screens providing information and entertainment during the journey.

The railway sector is also collaborating with localities like Hue to make Hue Railway Station a full-fledged tourist destination, transforming it from a simple transit point to a destination offering historical and architectural experiences. This initiative attracts more passengers and stimulates demand for train travel, helping to strengthen the position of the railway sector on the international tourism map.

Since its launch in 2024, the “Journey to Discover the Heritage of Central Vietnam” train has transported more than 440,000 passengers on more than 2,800 trips. The transport company has also collaborated with more than 140 travel agencies to boost tourism, develop tourism partnerships and contribute to the promotion of the tourist image of Central Vietnam.

The train was also distinguished in the ranking of “Hue’s 9 most impressive tourism products in 2024”, thus confirming the new direction of the railway sector in the development of experiential tourism products, combining railway transport with the attraction of domestic and international tourists.
