Travel magazine like no other, Tourism agency stands out as one of the most unusual offerings from Canal+ in recent years. Carried by the comedy duo Sébastien Thoen and Baptiste Lecaplain, the show combines exploration, fiction and comedy in a hybrid format that breaks the codes of the genre.

The principle? Discover European destinations that are often little-known in an original way. The two accomplices play two adventurers, commissioned by Gérard Jugnot who has become the boss of a fake travel agency, in order to offer themed stays.

For this second salvo, Belgrade and Helsinki become the duo’s playgrounds, in a mixture of crazy situations, unexpected encounters and sometimes improbable activities: they wander around the Finnish capital doing hobby horse riding, a practice which consists of imitating horse riding… using a stick or a handle broomstick.

Season 2 of Tourism agency : An extended format

The originality of the program lies above all in its tone. For Sébastien Thoen, this concept of “funny tourist documentary” is thus closer to “Échappées beaufs” than toÉchappées belles“Â! The discovery sequences combine sketches, improvisations and irreverent humor, very much in the spirit of the pair.

And with this season 2, Tourism agency see bigger. The format of four episodes of around twenty minutes of the first season gives way to two longer issues, each lasting almost 40 minutes.

A choice which allows the two actors to take more time to explore their destinations, but above all to work better on the fiction part, notably with the expansion of the agency’s premises. The fictional sequences are much more complicated“, underlines Baptiste Lecaplain. And it succeeded: on screen, the result is still just as amusing!

With a new ambition and having already visited six European cities, could the show leave the borders of the Old Continent in the future? The project is not excluded, but nevertheless seems complex to implement, as Baptiste Lecaplain tells us: “We thought about it with Canal+, but it is more complicated in terms of logistics“.
