Tourist attendance in Thailand fell slightly during the week of March 23 to 29, 2026, with 630,102 foreign visitors, a drop of 6.7% compared to the previous week, according to ministry data Thai Tourism and Sports. This slowdown can be explained by the end of travel linked to Eid al-Fitr for local markets and the entry into the low season for long-haul tourists.
Â
Since the start of the year, however, the dynamic remains solid: the country has welcomed more than 9.17 million international visitors, generating nearly 446.7 billion baht in revenue. The main markets remain China, Malaysia, Russia, India and South Korea.
Â
Over the recent period, arrivals from Malaysia and China have declined, while the United Kingdom has recorded notable growth. In major regions, Asia is declining, Europe remains generally stable, and the Middle East is progressing slightly despite still limited volumes.
Â
Tensions in the Middle East continue to weigh on certain flows, particularly for travelers passing through this area. At the same time, the government’s support measures – promotion of the Chinese market, facilitation of travel, improvement of the security image and increase in flights – are helping to cushion the slowdown.
Â
The authorities now expect arrivals to stabilize in the coming weeks, in a still uncertain international context.
