“It was an opportunity to review everything that has been put in place and to study possible routes“, specifies the mayor. “Through the Henriette program, several routes should see the light of day by 2027. We will combine all of this with specific walks, set up by the Hauts-Pays Natural Park, with the two walks which will be offered within the nature reserve.”
Highlight green tourism and local assets
Beyond the routes, the municipality wishes to strengthen the tourist attractiveness around several sites and develop a coherent offer throughout the territory. “We also want to be able to submit a European application for the rehabilitation of the Bougnies green theater, which would allow us to have a route around sustainable development.”indicates the mayor.
The project is also part of a dynamic aimed at highlighting emblematic places, including the Chant d’Éole vineyard, considered a showcase for the rural commune. “VisitMons is setting up routes between vineyards, and the Chant d’ðole will be a starting point”he emphasizes. With this in mind, several starting points for hikes are being studied, with facilities adapted to visitors, in particular information panels and even picnic tables.
A short, medium and long term strategy
Beyond concrete projects, the meeting marks an important step in the development of a real local tourism policy. “The objective is to have a short, medium and long-term vision, and to define more precisely what we want to do in the Quévy area. Structuring our tourism policy is something that has never been done before.” A rural commune par excellence, Quévy indeed offers indisputable green tourism potential. It would be a shame to deprive yourself of it.
