The archipelago continues to demonstrate a high level of performance in several markets, strengthening its position as a premium destination in the Caribbean.

February was a strong month for the Cayman Islands, which welcomed 49,075 stay visitors, an increase of 10.1% from the previous year, and the second best February on record.

Canada was the engine of growth for the month, continuing its record momentum with double-digit gains for the fourth consecutive month. A total of 6,102 Canadian visitors arrived in February, representing a 47% increase over the previous year and the highest monthly attendance ever recorded for this market.

Overall attendance, including staying visitors and cruise passengers, reached 208,992 visitors, up 7.3% compared to the same period last year. The annual cumulative stay arrivals climbed to 95,112 visitors, an increase of 11.8% compared to 2025, building on a record January.

“The Cayman Islands continues to demonstrate a high level of performance in several markets, strengthening our position as the premier premium destination in the Caribbean,†said Gary Rutty, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism and Business Development.

Growth in key markets

The United States remained the top source market, generating 38,673 staycation visitors in February, up 5.4% from the previous year, and marking the second strongest February ever recorded.

Other international markets also contributed to the destination’s strong performance. Attendance from the United Kingdom and Ireland reached 1,783 visitors, an increase of 12.8% compared to the previous year, representing a record for the month of February in this region despite the absence of an increase in air capacity.

Continental Europe recorded an increase of 24%, while Latin America showed an increase of 7%, reflecting continued efforts to diversify the customer base.

The expansion of air routes continues to play a key role in supporting growth, with total inbound capacity from the US, UK and Canada increasing by 20.9% in February. New and expanded services from strategic hotspots, including Toronto and Ottawa, have further strengthened connectivity.

Well-filled hotels

Hotel performance also remained strong, with STR data showing an 8.7% increase in the average daily rate compared to February 2025.

In the months ahead, the Cayman Islands is well positioned to maintain its growth trajectory during the first quarter of 2026, supported by sustained demand and strengthened connectivity in key markets.

“The Caymanian visitor chooses our destination for its accessibility, its security and its high-end positioning,” concludes Rosa Harris, Director of Tourism for the Cayman Islands. February’s results reflect the strength of our global demand and the effectiveness of our strategic investments in developing emerging markets. We look forward to continuing to deliver concrete results for the destination. HAS”
