The Danish platform Opally completes its first round of funding with five investors from the hospitality and technology sectors. The young company wants to accelerate its European expansion and develop its artificial intelligence offering dedicated to the management of customer communication for hoteliers.
Opally announces the closing of its first angel round. Five investors with expertise in hospitality, fintech and artificial intelligence join the Danish start-up. Among them are People Ventures, a Nordic venture capital fund of which Anders Kynde Frederiksen is General Partner, Lasse Kjær, co-founder of Understory, Christian Markedal, founder of DigitalGuest, Jonatan Marc Rasmussen, co-founder of All Gravy and Bjarke Klinge Staun, business angel who notably invested in Lovable.
This funding comes as Opally is experiencing rapid growth. Founded by Gustav SøgÃ¥rd, the platform has grown from 12 client hotels in December 2025 to more than 50 establishments spread across five European countries: Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Austria and Greece. “It’s not a bet on an idea. Hotels across Europe already use Opally every day to manage thousands of guest requests. Every week, new properties join us, from boutique hotels to historic mansions and urban design hotels.”specifies the company.
A complete platform for customer communication
Opally, initially thought of as a simple email management tool towards a complete platform covering all communication with customers. The solution integrates an AI-powered chatbot for hotel websites, a voice assistant capable of taking calls at the front desk, automated responses for WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram, as well as a guest review response support tool. The young company has also developed AI Visibility, a feature aimed at improving the visibility of hotels on AI-based search engines such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini.
The company claims integration of the platform with hotel management systems such as Mews, Apaleo and BookVisit to write precise responses aligned with the brand image of the establishment. Receptionists maintain control by validating messages before sending. “We are not here to replace receptionists. Our goal is to give them back time to focus on what really matters: hospitality.« , souligne Gustav SøgÃ¥rd.
With this fundraising, Opally aims to accelerate its expansion in Scandinavia and the rest of Europe, to deepen its integrations with hotel management systems and to develop new functionalities. The startup has concrete interests in Switzerland and Norway to continue its European growth.
