On the occasion of the National Tourism and Disability Days which are taking place the whole month of Aprilthe Department of Charente-Maritime is mobilizing to make nature accessible to all.
Lnetwork sites Échappées Nature offer activities adapted to people with disabilities and their companions, also open to all visitors.
Discovery of bees, awareness of bird protection, meeting donkeys or visiting a museum: so many opportunities to enjoy friendly and inclusive experiences with family or friends, in the heart of the region’s natural spaces.

Estuary Park
Family workshop: from the hive to honey
Thursday April 9 – from 3 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. (duration: 1h15)
It is in the hive that the bees transform the nectar of the flowers into tasty honey. Let’s open the roof of this shelter and look inside: what are these wax cells for? Why do bees work so much?
After these explanations on the life of the bee, the Park’s beekeeper facilitator will help you taste honeys from different origins. You will also make a small wax candle to take home.

SOS Birds in Distress

When a bird in distress is found, what behavior should you adopt? This animation allows you to better understand the right actions to adopt and the role of wildlife conservation centers.

Baudet du Poitou Asinerie
Discovery of donkeys
Thursday April 30 – sessions from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. (duration: 1 hour)
A break, a time of discovery for some, rekindled memories for others. This activity offers the opportunity to share a special moment with the donkeys in two stages:
• a grooming workshop to discover brushing
• a moment of complicity with the donkeys and their mothers
