Graduation ceremony for the 5th class of reciters of the Holy Quran from the Chinguetti Institute of Islamic and Arab Sciences

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Original Education, Mr. Beitallah Ould Ahmed Lessouad, chaired Saturday evening the graduation ceremony for the fifth promotion of the Chinguetti Institute of Islamic and Arab Sciences, in the moughataa of Toujounine, wilaya of Nouakchott North.

This promotion has 43 students, 11 of whom received certification in reciting Nafi’ according to the Warsh and Qalun traditions.

In his speech, the Secretary General stressed that His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, pays particular attention to Islamic affairs in general, and to traditional education and its institutions in particular, taking into account the role essential that these institutions play in the preservation of national identity, the consolidation of the values of moderation and the strengthening of social peace.

He explained that this attention is reflected in the implementation of support and training programs which benefit hundreds of mahadras and Islamic institutes each year, as well as in the allocation of funds to develop infrastructure and improve supervision and training conditions in regional institutes and establishments. traditional teaching.

He added that the government of His Excellency the Prime Minister, Mr. Mokhtar Ould Djay, is working, through the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Original Education, to achieve these objectives by developing a concrete vision aimed at strengthening the national academic framework, in accordance with the realities of society and its authentic values.

For his part, the mayor of the commune of Toujounine, Mr. Ahmed Salem Ould El-Vilaly, expressed his pride during the awarding of diplomas to this class of students, stressing that they represent the core of future generations and the ambassadors of the Islamic values of tolerance, praising the efforts deployed in the field of original teaching.

The Director of the Institute, Mr. Abderrahmane Abdallahi Baba, explained that the Institute strives to produce brilliant scholars and students, combining academic excellence and spiritual refinement, and embodying the values ​​of moderation and balance.

At the end of the ceremony, eleven graduates were honored, as well as several professors and members of the Institute’s staff, in recognition of their efforts.

The graduation ceremony took place in the presence of the advisor to the wali of Nouakchott North, the hakem of the moughataa of Toujounine, the general secretary of the Association of Mauritanian Scholars, the director of the Higher Institute of Islamic studies and research, as well as directors of regional institutes, imams of mosques and heads of mahadras.
