Basil

In the field of aromatics, you can sow basil in a heated mini-greenhouse. The ideal germination temperature is 20°C. As basil seeds need light to germinate, they should not be buried too much. The substrate must remain moist but not excessively. Little advice: try Thai basil for its spicy flavor and that little aniseed touch which gives it all its charm.

Chives

Have you sown chives and the stems collapse as soon as they reach more than 15-20 cm? Simply cut these stems in half to solve the problem.

The flowers

For the ornamental garden, you can start sowing annual plants such as ipomoeia, ornamental tobacco, zinnias, cosmos, etc. These sowings must be done in a bright place and at a temperature of 18-20°C.

Who is Marc Knaepen?

If you haven’t done so yet, it’s time to plant the dahlia tubers.

Shrubs

Many spring flowering shrubs are early this year. If their flowering is finished you can already prune them.

There is still time to divide strong clumps of grasses such as Miscanthus or Carex.
