Brest Firefighters Tackle Electric Surfboard Battery Fire
It was 6 pm when firefighters in Brest responded to a fire on Leopold Messin Boulevard, facing Moulin Blanc Beach. Two FPT trucks (pump tankers), one vehicle, and 15 firefighters were deployed. They immediately intervened to control a fire caused by an electric surfboard battery in a garage. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
“This fire was quickly contained by the Brest SDIS 29 firefighters. An electric surfboard battery in the early afternoon sparked the fire. Thankfully, no one was hurt,” said Mayor Erwan L’Eost, a professional firefighter at SDIS 29.
The mayor, who continues his firefighting duties during his term, was on duty at the central SDIS center and closely monitored the operation from the main Brest fire station (CSP).
