Hard blow for local commerce. The Alinéa store in Allonne, near Beauvais, will close definitively on April 18, leaving 17 employees unemployed and a gap in furniture.
The news fell suddenly for employees and loyal customers alike: the Alinéa store in Allonne, in Oise, will definitively lower its curtain on April 18. A closure which takes place in a difficult context for the French furniture brand, but also for the entire local commercial fabric which is already weakened.
A brutal judicial liquidation
Placed in receivership in mid-November, the Alinéa brand ultimately failed to redress the situation. The judicial liquidation was recorded on March 31, putting an end to several months of uncertainty. For the teams on site, the shock was immense. HAS” We received a somewhat devastating email overnight “, confides Anthony Martin, director of the Allonne store. Founded in 1989 in Avignon, Alinéa was nevertheless a reference in the world of decoration and furnishing. However, increased competition and market developments weighed heavily on its results. In a decade, its turnover has fallen from 427 million euros in 2014 to 162 million in 2025. A dizzying decline which led to the elimination of 1,200 jobs in France.
17 employees directly affected
In Allonne, 17 employees are directly affected by this closure. Among them, Evan Letocart, a salesman for five years, tries to keep his head high despite the situation. HAS” It took a few days to get the pill to pass “, he explains, referring to an announcement that is difficult to take. If some employees could be reclassified, others will have to turn to France Travail to consider what happens next. An uncertain outlook in a region where opportunities are not always numerous. In the meantime, a vast 50% clearance sale has been launched to sell off the last products before the final closure.
A new blow for local commerce
This closure does not go unnoticed in Beauvaisis. Already marked by the disappearance of other brands such as Centrakor or 4 Murs, the region is seeing a new commercial showcase disappear. For residents, this is yet another loss. HAS” That’s another store less “, regrets a customer, highlighting the increasing difficulty in finding quality furniture without moving far from the region. A concern shared by many consumers, who note a gradual desertification of the local commercial offer.
An aborted recovery and unanswered questions
However, everything was not decided in advance. A takeover offer from a Romanian group had been considered, without success. Refused by management and then by the Marseille court, this proposal did not save the brand. Ironically, some employees claim that the Allonne store was functioning properly, with a loyal customer base and satisfactory turnover. “We were a positive store,” insists Evan Letocart. From now on, one question remains unanswered: what will become of this vast 3,500 m² premises?
