The Beuchay film company was honored at Cinema à l’Affiche on Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29. “The Treasure of Fairies” and its sequel, “The Secrets of the Grimoire”, were screened. The director and actors attended both screenings to interact with the audience. Only six (Saturday) and nine (Sunday) people attended.
This association was founded in Langres in 2018. They started by producing short films before venturing into a big fantasy film with “The Treasure of Fairies”. While the adventures of the heroine, Iris, are captivating, the film also showcases various locations and villages around Langres. Under the direction of Sébastien Blondin, actors and technicians volunteered. In “The Treasure of Fairies”, Iris, an orphan, came to live with her uncle in the countryside with her brother, where she encountered mysterious characters.
In the sequel, titled “The Secrets of the Grimoire”, Iris’s adventures become even more fantastical, including time jumps to the Middle Ages. Audience members had the chance to engage with Sébastien Blondin, the scriptwriter and director, as well as two actors, Lionel Marichal and Samuel Foucard. Questions ranged from filming locations to special effects intricately created by Sébastien during editing.
The company is preparing for their next film, “Éponine and Sabinus”, featuring a Gaulish hero couple. They are looking for male and female actors aged 25 to 35 and will hold auditions on Wednesday at 10 am and Thursday, April 9 at 6 pm.
