In the ninth season of “Mask Singer” airing from Friday, April 24 in prime time on TF1, a celebrity will perform, in front of the investigators and the viewers, without a mask. This person, who will only be wearing makeup, will change their makeup and costume every week.
“It was a good idea on paper but… we were very, very scared”
During the press conference of the entertainment show, Anthony Meunier, the producer of “Mask Singer”, explained: “We have this huge new feature that is a world first and is pretty awesome! Throughout the adventure, we have a celebrity who will come on stage without a mask to perform in front of Laurent Ruquier, Kev Adams, Chantal Ladesou, and Michaël Youn. In front of the media journalists present on this occasion, the one who works for Hervé Hubert confided: “We found a personality who will take up this crazy challenge, because it’s really crazy! So I can tell you that the evening before, neither she nor I slept. We said to ourselves: ‘Actually, it was a good idea on paper’, and then we were very, very scared. I almost called TF1 saying: ‘Listen, let’s put a mask back on her because it’s going to be ridiculous’.”
Under the watchful eye of Camille Combal, Anthony Meunier proudly added: “In the end, it works extremely well! The investigators are going crazy, it’s the thing that drives them the most crazy. And even more for Camille, because he is just 5 cm away from the character. This person will change their makeup and costume in each episode, which represents a very strong renewal.”

After Ycare’s victory as The Rabbit, this year’s cast is composed of 23 celebrities, including thirteen main costumes and two international stars. Among the characters, we find The Mummy, The Owl, The Cyborg, The Panther, The Werewolf, The Donkey, The Rock, The Bouquet, The Hedgehog, The Potato, and The Venetian.
