After a breakfast and a walk by Lake Nantua on the weekend of March 28 and 29, Sandy Gillet and her family found the window of their car broken. Their belongings, suitcases, and various items were stolen, including their son’s cushion, pillowcase, and comforter. The mother is now appealing for help in finding it.
Originating from Montmerle-sur-Saône, Sandy Gillet and her family spent the weekend on the shores of Nantua. They were dismayed to find their car vandalized and especially upset about their child’s belongings being stolen.
Sandy Gillet, the mother of Djelan, took to Facebook to share her ordeal. The family was enjoying a weekend in Nantua on Saturday, March 28, and upon returning from a walk, discovered their car vandalized. Sandy Gillet explained: “We had our suitcase, various items stolen, but especially my son’s cushion with his pillowcase on which we had sewn his birth comforter.”
The comforter holds great sentimental value according to the mother, and “is probably of no interest to the thieves.” Even if it is “thrown into nature or a trash can,” Sandy Gillet is asking for help: “If someone comes across a blue pillowcase with a dog comforter blanket sewn on and the name Djelan embroidered on it, I would be eternally grateful if they could contact me to retrieve it.”
