In his early years at the Military Medical Academy, Long clearly defined his learning and training goals, aligning them with the future roles of a military physician. Not only did he aim for academic excellence, but he also devoted considerable time to scientific research, a field that requires a critical mind, unwavering professional rigor, and steadfast perseverance.
Sergeant Dong The Long stood out for his highly applied scientific research, directly addressing concrete medical issues. Despite his young age, he took part in the project “Evaluation of the number, mobility, and morphology of spermatozoa in male infertility associated with Y chromosome microdeletions,” and along with his research team, won the first prize in the Scientific and Technological Competition for Higher Education Students organized by the Ministry of Education and Training.
The sergeant’s research not only gained recognition for its creativity and methodological approach but also proved significant in the diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutic orientation of male infertility. His project was among the 43 most outstanding projects of 2025, recognized by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union at the “Creative Youth” National Award ceremony.
In addition to his exceptional academic and scientific performance, Dong The Long is a dynamic and committed youth union leader. As a Party member and deputy secretary of the union branch, he plays an essential role in advising and proposing ideas to the branch’s commander and executive committee on organizing youth activities and movements. His actions aim to ensure their feasibility and mobilize a large number of members, contributing to creating a positive learning and training environment within the unit.
Thanks to his constant efforts, Sergeant Dong The Long has repeatedly been awarded titles such as Exceptional Soldier at the base level and High-Level Soldier. He was recently commended by the head of the General Political Department for his outstanding performance in the “Youth Movement of the Army for Morality, Talent, Pioneering Spirit, Creativity, and Dignity of Being a Soldier of Ho Chi Minh in the New Era” for the period 2022-2025. Sergeant Dong The Long is among the 10 most promising young talents in the army in 2025.
