The University of Lorraine is a partner in the European project AEGIS OA (Activate European Guidance and Incentives for Sustainable Open Access publishing). As part of the European Diamond Capacity Hub, this initiative is part of a broader European dynamic in favor of open science and aims to strengthen the model of scientific publication in open access, also known as “diamond” (without fees for readers or authors).
Launched on March 20 in Brussels, the project is led by a consortium of 24 partners from 16 European countries, brought together for 2 years. It includes research organizations, service providers, and national competency centers.
The project aims to establish a transparent, sustainable, and high-quality open access scientific publication ecosystem in Europe, based on the services of the European Diamond Capacity Hub (EDCH) and further developing them. For this purpose, four specific objectives have been set: – Expand the diamond open access standards to books – Implement training programs to improve the skills of publishing professionals – Enhance the tools and services of the European Diamond Capacity Hub – Ensure the coordination of national diamond centers to strengthen sustainable solutions across Europe.
Already involved in supporting diamond publishing, the University of Lorraine naturally aligns with this dynamic. The publishing department of the Documentation Division is participating in the AEGIS project for the university.
