Physical exercise would encourage drinking alcohol

We have so often heard phrases like: “Alcohol does not improve your physical abilities, Alcohol is the number 1 enemy of abs,” and so on. Some athletes even give up alcohol completely, but a study relayed by the New York Times contradicts that.

Alcohol and sports

Researchers from Pennsylvania State University studied the lifestyle habits of a representative group of 150 adult men and women aged 18 to 75 over several three-week periods in a year. The researchers bluntly state that people drink more than usual on days when they engage in physical activity. This study confirms in all seasons, in men and women, students, or retirees.

The study also shows that there is no question of excess. In fact, the results show that those involved have moderate alcohol consumption. A study conducted on animals proves that both exercise and alcohol lead to an increase in brain activity in areas related to the reward process.

It turns out that some sociological factors also play an important role between alcohol and sports. It is on the field that we meet people, which can push us to continue the evening with a drink. This phenomenon is known as the “third half.”
