Driven by the dream of contributing to the establishment of an advanced, ecological, and circular agricultural production system, the owner of Queen Farm has built a complete value chain, from production to export, in the durian sector. Through this value chain, farmers benefit from training in cutting-edge techniques from production to consumption.

Smart Manufacturing

Nguyen The Tung’s journey to become a farmer has been a self-taught and continuous learning process. His lessons come from practical experience, exchanges with agricultural experts, and qualified engineers working at Queen Farm. He did not hesitate to invest in travel and training, pushing the boundaries of traditional production methods and accumulating valuable experience. Tung stated: “I chose to cultivate durian because it is a demanding crop. I am eager to learn and love traveling to many countries to discover their cultivation techniques.”

In 2025, Queen Farm harvested 385 tons of durians of different varieties, with about 80% being exported. At the same time, the farm attaches great importance to the domestic market and is ready to supply its distribution partners in provinces and cities across the country in bulk and retail, believing that Chinese consumers have the right to consume healthy and local products.

According to Mr. Tung, science and technology should not be too complex; the application of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) technology is entirely feasible and can start with very simple measures. The scientific challenge lies in considering every detail, from plant health to climatic variations. For example, introducing microorganisms into the irrigation system and watering the garden helps reduce plant diseases and create a favorable environment for beneficial microorganism development. Farmers must manage weeds, maintaining their density at an appropriate level to retain soil moisture without depleting plant nutrients; they must be informed about the best time to harvest and compost them to obtain optimal fertilizer and use microorganisms to accelerate their decomposition into organic fertilizer.

Currently, Queen Farm cultivates and manages over 9,500 durians of three special varieties—Ri6, Dona, and Musang King—spread across 55 hectares. CNC technology is applied to tree maintenance processes, including smart irrigation and automated fertilization. Drones equipped with an Uninterrupted Aerial Vehicle (UAV) system are used for surveillance to quickly detect and treat pests and diseases. Finally, Narrowband Internet of Things (NBIoT) technology and sensors are deployed to monitor key indicators. The farm’s pipeline network extends over 75 km. The farm has also invested in artificial reservoirs covering several hectares to store irrigation water for the dry season.

Ambition to Contribute to Ethical Agriculture

Speaking about his connection with agriculture, Mr. Tung shared: “Two things tie me to agriculture. First, there is my mother’s decision to invest in a farm in Binh Phuoc (formerly), out of love for agriculture. At that time, my mother was already old, and I wanted to help her. She defined the direction and vision for agricultural development, and I promised her to realize her dream and make agriculture thrive. Second, my family has a long agricultural tradition, and I also want to contribute to this sector.”

Mr. Tung is convinced that everything taken from the land must be returned to it with the utmost gratitude. That is why Queen Farm’s agricultural development focus is on environmental adaptation to meet the growing market demand for ecological and healthy products. The operation complies with strict market legal requirements, particularly in terms of safety and sustainability. In terms of management, it optimizes resources, reduces production and operating costs, and meets the demand for low prices and high returns. The goal is to increase commercial value in the global market and establish the Queen Farm durian brand among a premium clientele willing to pay a higher price for taste and well-being.

Mr. Tung stated: “Queen Farm participates in a supply chain with cooperatives and local farmers because we believe that in agriculture, it is impossible to meet the market’s high demand alone. Currently, the cultivated area of certified durians for export remains very low compared to the total cultivated area in Vietnam. If we succeed only from our side, with too few high-performing models, it will be very difficult to build a brand for Vietnamese agricultural products; it must be the majority. We provide farmers with technologies that help increase the value of their production. I hope to create a cooperative ecosystem sharing a common vision and principles in sustainable agriculture. I am ready to share information and methods to help farmers improve their practices. I consider this my social responsibility,” Mr. Tung confided.
