The 15th edition of the “Taj El Coran” competition closed on Friday evening at the Abdelatif-Rahal International Conference Center (CIC, Algiers), with a distinction ceremony for the winners.
In the female category, first place in this competition, organized by the TV Coran channel, went to Nour El-Imane Aissani (Tlemcen), followed by Asma Beltas (Jijel) and Nour el Houda Midoune (Oran), respectively in second and third place.
As for the male category, the narrator Abderrahmane Taouch (Tiaret) won first prize in this edition, followed by Mohamed el Habib Zerouati (Algiers), then Fatah Bayou (Tissemsilt) in third position.
In a statement to the press on the sidelines of this ceremony, the Minister of Religious Affairs and Wakfs, Youcef Belmehdi welcomed the successful organization of this edition of the “Taj El Coran” competition, marked by the participation of international reciters, which reflects, he said, “the evolution that this great competition is experiencing and its contribution to highlighting the efforts of Algeria in the service of the Holy Quran, through the different competitions and broadcasts which train pupils and students in this field to make it symbols as much both nationally and internationally.
Koranic education in Algeria “is progressing successfully”, and “thanks to the particular interest and support of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune”, said the minister.
Regarding the distinction of the huffaz of the Holy Quran from the category of people with specific needs, Mr. Belmehdi stressed that this initiative, organized in coordination with the Ministry of National Solidarity, “contributes to bringing joy to this category which enjoys great attention with the President of the Republic.”
In turn, the participants in this edition expressed their joy at having won this religious competition with an international dimension, to which the President of the Republic pays particular attention, through the encouragement and incitement to the memorization, recitation and chanting of the Saint Quran, with the aim of anchoring religious and moral values within society, in addition to supporting the various Quranic competitions and initiatives and providing them with the necessary means for their success, which contributes to strengthening the place of the word of Allah in the hearts of young people and building a society imbued with its values of tolerance and its noble precepts and teachings.
This ceremony took place in the presence of the president of the National People’s Assembly (APN), Mr. Brahim Boughali, the advisor to the President of the Republic in charge of the General Directorate of Communication, Mr. Kamal Sidi Said, of the advisor to the President of the Republic in charge of religious affairs, zaouias and Koranic schools, Mr. Mohamed Hassouni, of the Minister of Communication, Mr. Zoheir Bouamama, of the Minister of National Solidarity, Family and the Status of Women, Ms. Soraya Mouloudji, of the rector of Djamaâ El-Djazaïr, Sheikh Mohamed Maâmoun Al Kacimi Al Hoceini, and the president of the High Islamic Council (HCI), Mr. Mabrouk Zaid El Khair, in addition to representatives of different sectors and national authorities.
