As part of the promotion of cultural and religious values, the Malian Resistance Forces (FMR) association organized its second edition of Koranic reading for Mali and the world. The event, held on March 16, 2026, in the Magnambougou Project district in Commune VI of the Bamako district, brought together members of the association, guests and local populations in a spirit of contemplation and solidarity.

Placed under the sponsorship of Ms. Sania Assoumani, recognized for her commitment to Africa and global solidarity, the ceremony was an opportunity to recall the importance of Ramadan as a period of purification, faith and sharing. Although physically absent, the godmother sent a message of gratitude to the participants: “My heart and my thoughts were with you throughout this beautiful evening,” she said.
The president of the association, Kissima Diarra, recalled that the month of Ramadan is a privileged time for meditation, solidarity and attention to the most vulnerable. “Breaking the fast goes beyond the simple act of eating after a day of abstinence. It is above all a moment of communion, where differences fade away in favor of fraternity, tolerance and peace,” he explained.
The ceremony began with a presentation of the association and its motivations, followed by the Koranic reading. The latter was accompanied by blessings and the presentation of certificates of recognition to the godmother and several members of the association. The meeting concluded with a collective breaking of the fast, bringing together participants, guests and residents of the neighborhood, in a spirit of sharing and conviviality.
According to the organizers, this second edition constitutes “a glimmer of hope” for the association and for the population, by conveying a message of peace, an essential condition for all development. The collective prayer was an opportunity to bring hope that divine clemency will spread peace in Mali and elsewhere.
In his message, President Kissima Diarra also expressed his wishes for health, prosperity and serenity for all participants and their families, thanking everyone for the attention and joy brought to this spiritual meeting.
This FMR initiative is part of a dynamic of strengthening social ties and promoting religious values, in line with the teachings of the blessed month of Ramadan.
