The meeting takes place under the roofs of Paris, in his apartment a few streets from Sacré-CÅ“ur, where he lives with his wife and daughter. Affable and authentic, Olivier Delacroix, face of the show In Olivier’s eyesbroadcast on France 2, in which he collects the life experiences of anonymous people, has just launched a new magazine on the Novo 19 channel, Live my life.
The one who almost embraced a career as a professional footballer and sang in a rock group, is omnipresent on social networks, hosting, again and again – and in particular on his YouTube and Twitch channels – interviews where the human aspect comes first. Despite this success, it is his feeling of illegitimacy that he traces in a new novel entitledImposter Syndrome (Fayard).
Why did you write this novel about imposture?
I have always had a taste for writing. After writing poetry for my music group, I wanted to try my hand at writing a novel. My hero is inspired by my life. Despite the image of a super solid “rock” man that I can project, imposter syndrome caught me very young and stayed with me for a very long time. I also included the testimonies of other people who I identified as having this syndrome.
Everything in this book existed. Between my show, radio and social networks, I have been collecting the words of others for 25 years, trying to understand them and sometimes lead them to open doors that they have never opened; I acquired a certain knowledge of human dough.
