The Secretary General of the governorate of Tahoua, Mr. Yacouba Soukeyradjou attended, on Thursday March 26, 2026, at the Great Friday Mosque of the City of Tahoua, a reading session of the Holy Quran and invocations to implore peace and security for the Niger. This activity is part of the celebration of National Refoundation Day, consecrated by the Transition Charter resulting from the national meetings of February 2025. The ceremony took place in the presence of the administrative authorities and local customs, FDS officials as well as many faithful Muslims.
After the completion of the two rakaats of prayer, the imam and eminent marabouts pronounced important invocations in favor of peace, security and stability in Niger, and especially towards the FDS engaged on the various theaters of operations to continue to defeat the enemy.
The Secretary General of the Tahoua governorate recalled that the last Council of Ministers dedicated this day of March 26 as National Refoundation Day. According to him, “the Tahoua region has chosen to celebrate this day in the most beautiful way, that is to say the return of faithful Muslims to Allah in view of the threats to which our country is subject.” He also observed that “the most sober way to celebrate this day is to refer to our Creator who is the measure and solution of all things.”
Furthermore, the Secretary General, Yacouba Soukeyradjou, expressed his thanks and deep gratitude to all the populations of the City of Tahoua and its surroundings who mobilized to come and pray to God so that peace, security and mercy may descend on Niger.
As for the delegated administrator of municipal district 1, Police Commissioner Yacouba Massalatchi, after having expressed his thanks to the faithful Muslims, in particular the heads of neighborhoods and villages for their massive presence, he explained the context in which this day which celebrates took place sovereignty in all areas, stressing that the reading of the holy Koran and the invocations are made so that God protects Niger against foreign aggression.
Previously, the head of the Canton of Tahoua, the honorable Mahamadou Moussa, and that of the Peulh Group of Tahoua, the honorable Boubacar Deye rejoiced at this national day of refoundation, before asking faithful Muslims to persevere in prayer, reading the holy Koran, and invocations until the final victory.
