Five Bible verses to pray for future Easter baptized people

This year again, the number of adult baptisms in the Catholic Church is experiencing strong growth, a sign of real spiritual momentum. As Easter night approaches, the catechumens are living their last week of preparation in a context marked by this “boom” of baptisms. A joy for the Institution, but also a call to pray with more intensity for those who are preparing to be reborn by water and the Spirit.

1. A renewed heart

“I will give you a new heart, I will put a new spirit within you.” (Ezekiel 36, 26)

This verse resonates powerfully today: if so many men and women ask for baptism, it is because God is working in depth.

2. A faith rooted in Christ

“This is my beloved Son; listen to him.” (Mark 9, 7)

Faced with the increase in the number of catechumens, the essential remains: meeting and listening to Christ. Let us pray that everyone develops a personal relationship with Him, beyond the enthusiasm of the moment.

3. A spiritual thirst to satisfy

“If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.” (John 7:37)

The “boom” in baptisms reveals a quest for meaning and truth in our society. Let us entrust this thirst to the Lord: may it find its source in Him and may it continue to grow after Easter night.

4. Enter a new life

“We were buried with him through baptism into death, so that […] we also lived in a new life.” (Romans 6, 4)

Receiving baptism means changing your life. Let us pray that future baptized people take the full measure of this commitment and are supported to grow in faith on a daily basis.

5. Walk in light and trust

“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” (Psalm 27, 1)

In a world that is sometimes worried, many seek solid light. Let us pray that the catechumens advance with confidence, carried by the light of Christ which does not go out.
