
Prayers, fasts, meditations and liberalities on the program of the faithful Christians of Cameroon who began the celebration of the Easter week with the festival of palm branches before the final highlight this Sunday on the occasion of the mass of the resurrection.
Easter week in Cameroon is a period of intense spiritual fervor, marked by Christian celebrations which close 40 days of fasting in some denominations.
It begins with Palm Sunday, followed by the Easter triduum Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter vigil especially among faithful Catholic Christians. At the heart of celebrations of prayers, processions, baptisms and sharing actions.
At the Ciel et Vie Pentecostal Temple in Yaoundé, the week will be marked by intense moments of prayer. For the occasion, worship services will take place every day of the week. On the side of the Full Gospel Mission of Messamendongo, the faithful are called to observe a fasting period during this week in order to spiritually prepare for the celebration of Easter scheduled for this Sunday.
At the Catholic Church, Palm Sunday celebrated with processions to inaugurate Passion Week. The liturgical celebrations will continue and will be marked by a large crowd in places of worship, the Easter Vigil (Saturday evening) and the Mass of the Resurrection on Sunday.
Alongside these moments of communion in the churches, many faithful will also mark this period with acts of solidarity and sharing, particularly donations in orphanages. A period conducive to meditation on the sacrifice of Jesus, reconciliation and strengthening of faith underline many faithful Christians.
