Hodeida: Closing of the annual “Martyr of the Koran” competition for disabled people
The National Union of Associations of Disabled People in the province of Hodeida closed the annual “Martyr of the Koran” competition for people with disabilities.
This event was placed under the sponsorship of the governor of the province, Abdullah Otayfiunder the supervision of the Social Affairs and Labor office, and with the financial support of the company Yemen Mobile.
During the closing ceremony, the provincial undersecretary for services, Mohamed Halissiunderlined the importance of supporting the category of disabled people and promoting their social integration, particularly through the Holy Quran, which constitutes a protective rampart for generations.
He indicated that this competition reflects the determination and will of people with disabilities to meet challenges, transforming their disability into creative energy.
Mr. Halissi praised the efforts of the Disabled Union and partners, notably Yemen Mobile, reaffirming the commitment of local authorities to facilitate programs serving this valuable segment of society.
For his part, the president of the National Union of Disabled Associations in Hodeida, Ziyad Jaabliexplained that this competition aims to encourage members of associations to memorize the Koran and to cultivate the spirit of competition between them.
De son côté, the representative of Yemen Mobile, Anwar Al-Haymiclarified that the company’s support is part of its social responsibility and its concern to sponsor talents among people with specific needs, affirming that Yemen Mobile will remain a forerunner in supporting societal projects strengthening faith identity.
À l’issue de la cérémonie, les lauréats ont été honorés :
- Complete Koran category: Khadija Khaled Al-Haydari (Association of the Blind) won 1st place, followed by Hisham Wali (Al-Qatî’ Association) in 2nd place.
- Category 20 Juz’: Abdullah Fadl (1 place) and Abdullatif Al-Ahdal (2 place).
- Category 10 Juz’: Mustafa Murad Al-Maqtari (1st place) and Essam Al-Wasabi (2nd place).
- Category 5 Juz’: Afrah Jaabli (1ère place) et Sarah Mohammed Hadi (2ème place).
The ceremony took place in the presence of the representative of the Social Affairs office, Abdessalam Al-Annabiand several presidents of associations of the disabled in the province.
