Faith has never been obvious to me, yet I was born into it. Even when I was little, I couldn’t just believe what people told me. Everything raised questions for me, even more so from adolescence, when I was very tempted to give up mass. Have my doubts dissipated before time? No! I am not yet very confident and assured in my faith, which remains the place of an internal battle.

On the other hand, two strong experiences lived in sensitive neighborhoods with Catholics who have devoted their lives to the mission have forged a conviction in me: seeking God is worth it! They also nourished in me a desire, that of being an ambassador of His joy in the world, by going out to meet others.

In 2021, I was looking for accommodation in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), where I had obtained an internship as part of my engineering studies. One of my sisters then told me about a classified ad that she had found by chance: “The Sisters of the Good News offer young people the opportunity to live in supportive shared accommodation in the disadvantaged district of Bagatelle.”

Leading a life of fraternity in an HLM with other volunteers, accompanying nuns in their street activities with the children of the city and sharing their life of prayer, this is a rather strange concept! However, I embarked on the adventure, because I had a real desire to reconnect with God, or rather to investigate the question.
