General Quran recitation competition for public school students: start in the governorates

The general Quran recitation competition for students of public schools in the governorates, for the school year 1447 AH, began yesterday in Sana’a. It is organized by the General Directorate of School Activities of the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research.

During the opening of the competition, the undersecretaries of the basic education sector at the Ministry of Education, Hadi Ammar, and the youth sector at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Abdullah Al-Razihi, congratulated the 18 students participating in this competition of five days for their success at the governorate level and their qualification for the national final.

They highlighted the role of the competition in promoting a spirit of competition among students, encouraging them to recite and perfect their recitation of the Holy Quran, and to memorize it through competitions organized by sections (15 parts) and by learning the Quran integral.

Ammar and Al-Razihi stressed the importance of understanding the verses of the Book of God, meditating on their meaning and striving to apply them concretely, as a way of life and an expression of Quranic culture. They also saluted the efforts of all those who contributed to the success of this competition.
